Ligue 1 title and Champions League aim confirmed by Mbappe
French footballer, Kylian Mbappe has confirmed that he is aiming to win the Ligue 1 title and the Champions League this season.
The Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) forward's statement comes after his side defeated Olympique de Marseille 2-0 in their round 26 clash on Saturday night.
Mbappe said: "I'm happy for my team-mates but I am also proud to have won our first game since the start of the season. It was important to keep the momentum going."
The victory over Marseille means PSG now sit at the top of the table with 44 points from 25 games. They are five points clear of second-placed Nice.
Mbappe added: "We know we can still improve and there is a lot left to do before the end of the season. We want to win every game and continue to fight for everything possible."
He continued: "We are determined to win the league and we will work hard to achieve it. The Champions League is always a big goal for us as well, but we need to focus on winning the Ligue 1 first."
Mbappe's comments come just days after he was named in France's squad for the UEFA Nations League final against England next month.
The striker scored twice in PSG's 4-0 win over Monaco last weekend and is expected to play a key role in the French national team's bid to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The Ligue 1 title and Champions League aim are not easy tasks to achieve, but Mbappe and PSG remain optimistic they can succeed.
The Frenchman added: "We're all working together and I think we have what it takes to achieve our goals. We're not going to give up until the very end."
The 22-year-old has already established himself as one of the world's best young players and his future at PSG looks bright.
